Description

Beautifully illustrated A3 print featuring a map of Scotland and the ten native sheep breeds of Scotland.

Specially commissioned for the Journal of Scottish Yarns, the print features illustrations by Natty Maid.

This stylised map of Scotland shows the native sheep breeds close to their origins: the Bowmont (or Scottish Merino) from the valley of the same name and the Cheviot, close to the Cheviot Hills in the Scottish Borders; the North Country Cheviot, a cousin of the Borders Cheviot in Caithness and Sutherland; North Ronaldsay, the seaweed eating sheep, from the islands of the same name to the north of Orkney; the Shetland from the Shetland isles; Castlemilk Moorit from Dumfries and Galloway; the Scottish Blackface thought to come from the Borders and prolific across Scotland; and three breeds all from the tiny St. Kilda archipelago, Soay, Boreray and Hebridean, originally known as the St. Kilda sheep.

Printed on 160 gsm satin paper and packaged in a strong cardboard tube to keep your print safe on its journey to you.
