Description

Hand carved spurtle stirrer with lathe turned handle. Made in Fife by artisan woodworker John Isaacs of Carving in Scotland using locally sourced wood.

A practical item for your kitchen often formed in the shape of a thistle, that showcases the beauty of Scottish wood in a choice of oak, elm or ash. The spurtle is a wooden Scottish kitchen tool, dating from the 15th century, that is used to stir porridge, soups, stews, and broths. John carves his maker's mark of an eagle in flight into each spurtle.

Care instructions are included to help keep your spurtle looking well and lasting a lifetime.

Images are an example only, each spurtle has its own unique grain.

Please email us if you would like to specify the style of handle.

Approximate dimensions: 27cm long.
