Named after the Arctic explorer Myrtle Simpson, this knitting pattern and wool is designed by Birlinn Yarn company using their wools and Meg's own pattern.
The headband colours are inspired by the purple and pink heather, pine trees, peat and granite rock of the Cairngorms mountain range in the Highlands of Scotland.
If you carefully switch out each colour you will be able to knit 4 different headbands from these 4 balls of yarn.
As a small fair isle project it is a perfect introduction to colour work. If you are a more experienced knitter they can be knitted up quickly for friends and family.
The set includes:
1 x 50g ball Peaty Brown yarn
1 x 50 ball Haar yarn
1 x 50g ball Pine yarn (this replaces the sold out blue-green Shillay yarn in the photos of the headband)
1 x 50g ball Sea Pink yarn
Printed knitting pattern
Cream canvas bag with The Birlinn Yarn Company logo
