Harris Tweed Edith Coat Rust
Harris Tweed Edith Coat Rust
The Edith coat is a classic style by Scottish designer Elizabeth Martin. Made with Harris Tweed®, it has a vintage fit and flare silhouette with button fastenings and turn-up cuffs.
The Harris Tweed is woven in a mix of rust, burgundy and cream, which gives it a beautiful texture. The coat is finished with a luxurious champagne satin lining. Neatly cut, our customers tend to go up a size with the Edith coat.
Protected by the 1993 Act of Parliament, Harris Tweed can only be made at the homes of the island weavers living on the Isle of Lewis and Harris. Using traditional methods, the tweed is woven from pure British wool which, unusually, is dyed before being spun so each thread contains a multitude of different colours, producing a cloth of great depth and complexity. You can read more about the history of this iconic Scottish cloth and interconnected roles of the weavers, the mills and the Harris Tweed Authority.
