Description

Spun from pure un-dyed Cheviot shearling sheep fleece, this 4 ply finger weight knitting wool hails from farms along Clachan Sands on the island of North Uist in the Outer Hebrides.

Canach which is the Gaelic word for Bog Cotton is a beautiful natural creamy white yarn, reminiscent of the fluffy tufts of bog cotton found in the Uist moors.

This sustainable yarn is a result of several crofters in the Outer Hebrides sharing the same values of animal husbandry and working together to preserve the traditional Hebridean crofting way of life that has existed in these islands for generations and protect their fragile island ecology.

Per ball: 50g / 150 meters of pure Cheviot wool, semi worsted. We would recommend knitting as 4 Ply on 3.5mm needles. Please hand wash with care.
