Harris Tweed Marta Coat Sage Herringbone
Harris Tweed Marta Coat Sage Herringbone
The Marta coat is the latest style by Scottish designer Elizabeth Martin. This maxi length Harris Tweed® coat features offset buttons and a contrasting blue satin lining.
With a vintage cut, this timeless coat is a wardrobe staple. Made with Harris Tweed woven in a beautiful sage green herringbone with an overcheck, finished with buttons made by UK button manufacturer Courtney and Co. This coat has a tailored cut, our customers tend to go up a size.
Protected by the 1993 Act of Parliament, Harris Tweed can only be made at the homes of the island weavers living on the Isle of Lewis and Harris. Using traditional methods, the tweed is woven from pure British wool which, unusually, is dyed before being spun so each thread contains a multitude of different colours, producing a cloth of great depth and complexity. You can read more about the history of this iconic Scottish cloth and interconnected roles of the weavers, the mills and the Harris Tweed Authority.
