Harris Tweed Fiona Coat Brown Herringbone Check
Harris Tweed Fiona Coat Brown Herringbone Check
The Fiona coat is an easy to wear style by Scottish designer Elizabeth Martin. Made with Harris Tweed®, it has a relaxed fit, with cropped, bracelet sleeves and shell button fastenings.
The Harris Tweed is woven in a traditional grey and brown herringbone check. The coat is finished with a gorgeous teal satin lining and buttons made by the UK's last remaining button manufacturer, Courtney & Co. This coat has a loose relaxed fit which is worth bearing in mind when selecting a size.
Protected by the 1993 Act of Parliament, Harris Tweed can only be made at the homes of the island weavers living on the Isle of Lewis and Harris. Using traditional methods, the tweed is woven from pure British wool which, unusually, is dyed before being spun so each thread contains a multitude of different colours, producing a cloth of great depth and complexity. You can read more about the history of this iconic Scottish cloth and interconnected roles of the weavers, the mills and the Harris Tweed Authority.
