Our Amethyst knitting wool is a rich deep purple and gives a lovely vintage look when knitted up. The Amethyst stone is found is Scotland, near Kircudbrightshire in Dumfries and Galloway in the South West. It is the birthstone for February.
A light double-knit weight. This signature Lalland lambswool by leading Scottish knitter Di Gilpin has a characteristic firm twist which gives wonderful stitch definition.
Lalland wool works beautifully on 3.25, 3.75 or 4 mm needles.
Recommended tension/gauge 25 stitches and 30 rows in stocking/stockinette stitch.
Measured over 10 cms / 4 ins on a UK 3.75 mm / US 5 needle.
Handwash in lukewarm water and dry flat.
50 grams 175 meters.
