Christmas Sales Assistant position available at our Edinburgh store

Are you passionate about Scottish made and sustainable textiles? 

We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic seasonal sales assistant to join our small, hardworking team!

Previous retail experience is desirable, along with an enthusiasm for interacting with our customers and talking about our products.  
A love of Scottish textiles, landscapes, sustainability and history would be advantageous - this is what we are all about! An eye for colour and detail is also important to us, as is visual merchandising. 
Located just off Edinburgh's bustling Royal Mile, the perfect person for this role will be able to give our national and international customers a great experience in store and juggle daily tasks even on the busier days.

Personal attributes ideal for this role:
Friendly and professional communicator who will give each and every customer a warm welcome and great experience both face-to-face and via email/phone calls. 
Team player, happy to be part of a small team and confident to work individually. 
An eye for colour and detail when it comes to visually merchandising our beautiful products. 
Good understanding and experience of social media platforms and photography.
Keen to learn and keep up to date with our makers and their collections. 
A passion for Scottish textiles, handmade pieces and sustainable design. 
An interest in Scottish landscape, heritage and history is desirable.
Great time management and multi-tasker with a can-do attitude!

Daily tasks include:
Offering great customer experiences to our visitors. 
Handling cash and till transactions. 
Assisting with merchandising our displays and windows in line with our weekly Maker/Product spotlights, seasonal or new stock. 
Occasionally opening and closing the store. 
Ensuring the shop is clean and tidy both inside and out. 

Expected hours:
8 hours per week minimum, weekend availability.
