BAKKA
Bakka is a remote coastal croft situated in a truly spectacular location on Shetland and the BAKKA label was created here by Mary Macgregor, the sole designer of BAKKA Fair Isle scarves and accessories.
After extensive research in the archives of the National Museum of Scotland and the Shetland Textile Museum, Mary realised that the old patterns and methods were in danger of dying out, so she decided to use them exclusively as the source of inspiration for her work.
Mary works with just five traditional colours using traditional Fair Isle patterns and a special reversible knitting technique to create perfect selvedges. Soft like cashmere, the BAKKA collection is knitted with a superfine merino wool, making each piece silky smooth next to the skin.
